| | Lumosity neuroscientists constantly seek to understand more about brain training and human cognitive abilities. To accelerate this effort, we’ve created the Human Cognition Project, a collaboration between Lumosity’s scientists and researchers from over 30 universities around the world. | How we select HCP collaborators | HCP collaborators are academic scientists, researchers, clinicians, and educators who’ve made it through a rigorous screening process. Each applicant submits a research proposal, which is then evaluated by Lumosity’s science team. Strong proposals must meet several experimental criteria: an appropriately large group of participants, an active control group, sufficient training time, and pre- and post- training assessments. Successful HCP collaborators gain free access to Lumosity’s tools and, in certain cases, limited access to select anonymized portions of Lumosity’s database of cognitive game performance. | Dozens of HCP experiments are underway | The HCP’s collaborative science approach has resulted in a considerable breadth of research topics. Maurice Finn, a clinical psychologist based in Australia, uses Lumosity to develop interventions for elderly patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (Finn et al., 2012); Shelli Kesler, a professor at Stanford University, combines Lumosity training with brain scanning techniques to investigate interventions for people with chemofog (Kesler et al., 2013); and Patrick O’Conner from the University of Georgia analyzes gameplay data to learn how physical activity may impact Lumosity performance. The HCP is, in many ways, Lumosity’s greatest research asset, allowing in-house scientists to learn from the collective expertise of many minds. And the more we learn, the better we hope to make Lumosity training. The realm of cognitive training is a relatively new one, which also makes it a fresh and exhilarating place to do research that expands the boundaries of what is known. | | | Purchase Plans | Huge savings compared to an individual plan! | | Family Plan | The Lumosity Family Plan lets you add up to 4 friends and family members to your account for free. | | | Group Plan | Group plans for 10, 25, or 50 people.
