President Barack Obama, in an interview on Wednesday with Kai Ryssdal, covered a wide range of economic topics -- from unemployment and the middle class to Congressional politics and Veterans Affairs. You can check out the full transcript, read some of the President's responses to questions about Wall Street and see how he fared when faced with Kai's trademarked "five words or less" question.

Meanwhile, Target -- the recent target of gripes from some gun owners -- issued a "respectful request" that customers leave their guns at home before visiting Target stores. Its action follows similar moves by Starbucks, Sonic, Chili's and others. Companies are increasingly taking stands on a host of hot-potato issues including gay rights, contraception, and guns, whether they want to or not.
